What is important is the fact that this is selling without an addon-on (Wii wheel) which (in most people's mind) is the main reason why Wii Fit, Mario Kart o Wii Sports are selling (I think that's not completely true)...this game is selling great, probably will fall under Mario Kart's sales in the graphic, but still will sell great through the whole year and this week Other's sales mean that it's right now the main system seller, so no problem for 20m. @Killergran Considering the game is at 12.69m, to arrive at 30m in the next two years it will need around an average 160k per week, and even if we consider the holiday boost, still it won't be easy, especially during the summer. I think it's more likely it reaches 20m before 2010 ends than 30m LTD, but we'll see, a bundle could change all of this. Others is ruining very much this game, it will soon be the best selling Wii game in Japan, and in Americas it has crazy legs, while in others is selling poorly compared to the other two countries. Actually Demotruk, NSMBWii is showing a tendency to have much weaker legs than Wii Fit, especially in Others. Due to the incredibly strong opening, I thought that it would leg it out and sell around over 200k most weeks this year. But it's still falling and even if it doesn't fall down under 100k per month it will still be less than I had anticipated. 30 million might be out of reach for this title, unless it stops dropping as quickly. New Super Mario Bros Wii is a terrific stronghold that resists to attacks coming from Bioshock, Mass Effect, Heavy Rain and God of War ME2 is almost out of charts while NSMBW is still nearly at the top, Bioshock will see the same drop, Heavy Rain is not so great in sales, only GOW3 and Final Fantasy will hurt a little. The reason you got bored of this faster because it really does not bring anything groundbreaking to you. @ guiduc I don't know why you say it doesn't have the legs of Sports Resort. At 10 weeks it looks like it's tracking nearly the same. If it stays above 200k a week, it should reach 20m at week 45. That's half the time it took Mario Kart to reach 20m. Message | Report |

@lonely_gamer I really don't know. It has nothing of the legs Sports Resort has. Fell drastically week 10. Wii needs a big game like Galaxy 2 now. Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2... over 11 millions in less than 10 weeks...doing about 300k since two weeks...10 weeks before the FY ends...Ok 13 millions is sure, I would say 15 in another 3-4 months and 20 in one year, but it can do even better. Right now a bundle is not necessary, but maybe for this Christams Nintendo could bundle Wii with some of the top games (SMG2, NSMBW, MH3, Xenoblade or The last Story, Zelda Wii!!): that would help the Wii in having another great holiday, and also some extra cash from software. @Fukudalakasone The Wii is the best selling console of this generation. NSMBWii is on it's way to being the fastest selling non-bundled game ever, and possibly the best selling non-bundled game ever. Why exactly would Nintendo want to bundle this? It doesn't make any sense to bundle a game that's making you several million dollars a week with a console that doesn't need a sales boost. They talked to Super Mario creator who said back when this was created they "rolled back" the complexity of Mario Games to allow more people to understand and pick them up instantly/play them. Instead they created a side-scrolling masterpiece that sold so far 28 million copies. Of course that was going to happen. Message | Report |
