Well it didn't sell out any shipments, it had a launch expected for the popularity of the franchise (albeit low for the popularity of the Wii), and it would go against the trend of long term legs for the game. All the other territories had a large dropoff, I'd expect at least a decent sized dropoff for Others. Message | Report |

I'm not too concerned about Brawl's long-term prospects in EU. I think the hype simply wore off, thus blunting the front-loaded sales. It's still an excellent game, and should move lots of units in the long term on its own merits. Message | Report |

SSBM was a winner by a smaller margin, and like I've said before, it's been tradition for every Nintendo home console to have a launch game as its highest selling title. That said, MKWii wins in innovation as well, and that's exactly what I bought the Wii for. Message | Report |

HAL was too lazy, and since Sakurai left, HAL felt they didn't have to do anything, except leech of a percentage of the profits. After you Euro's chomp it up I expect it to be pushed well over 7 million. I'm giving it 3 weeks in Europe to reach worldwide sales of 7 mil. This game will definitely surpass Melee by the end of the 2008 Christmas season, most likely more. I think the VG Chartz data is quite accurate; Nintendo said at the end of March that Brawl's sales were 4 something million. Now, 2 months later, 5 something million is really accurate. I'm afraid I can't stand by and watch you guys fight over Sora vs. HAL any longer, so I went and made an account. The guy who said that the developer is HAL is the "novice" HAL did absolutely NOTHING, except for loaning Sora some Melee codes. Because Sora used HAL's code, HAL is listed on the game, but Sora still developed it. Game Arts and Monolith Soft did more than HAL did. Message | Report |

This comes out in Europe June 27th. This game will soon pass SMG and in a few months and some change pass Melee LTD. Plus, add the fact the Wii has only been out 18 months and Smash Brawl has already hit 4.9 million....the legs this game will have for the next few years will probably get it to that 8 million mark at least. This game is doing so well. The Jp sales has already surpassed ssbm life sales and at this rate I expect it'll out sell the jp ssb. And I'm feel confident saying the "Other" sales will smash the melee sales when ever it's released. About another million in american sales and it'll match melees. Going by current numbers, SSBB would have to sell 1,369,467 copies minimum during its launch week in Europe to pass Halo 3's worldwide launch numbers. Which seems... borderline unlikely, unless Nintendo really gets the hype going and makes sure that a huge shipment reaches Europe for that first week. Fought the urge to buy a Wii just to get this game and I'm glad I did so after playing it at a friends house. Not saying it's a bad game or anything, there's just not enough changes made to this installment of the series from the last one. So much to the point where I never really felt like I was playing a new game. The new features they added are nice and all but they're just too gimmicky and add very little. Online is alright, but I believe is only worth playing with people you know through friend codes (which technically could be done in melee) and without any real methods of communication it doesn't really come close to actually sitting there playing with a group of friends. The random matches are limiting and unrewarding. Hopefully Nintendo will get their act together when it comes to online gaming for the next Smash Bros. tl;dr : IMO this is the most overhyped game since Halo 3. Message | Report |

@Sleepwalking I (as you guessed) dislike the consol wars and this site being one that tracks vg hardware/software is most likely to attract those intereted in said war. So your question is good one...the reason I eventually joined is because much to my shock the community here is a 1000 times more pleasant than just about every other Vg site I joined. @hihihi You see theirs this thing called "Consol Wars" its a collective stupid where a bunch people get together and act like six y/os. Those involved tend to piss and moan for hours about how their consol of choice is better then everyone elses. One of the many things moaned about in these "Consol Wars" is the score of games. Generally if a site allows anyone to vote on the rating of a game and allows people to vote more then once it attract people involved with the "Consol Wars". Simply put alot of the people rating games down on this site don't actually own them or the consol their on. to be fair, if the system allows you to rate a game before it is released, then you can fairly expect that you are allowed to rate the game, based on how much you are interested in it.
