The Priem subsaga was... sory IS a phenomenal experience. I remember I was shocked at playing MP1, and it's one of my favourites games ever. The reason it's not selling so well is because it's a sequel to a game that sold 1.29 million. Most of the 10 top ten best selling Wii games aren't sequels. The ones that were sequels were games that sold 4+ million. Message | Report |

Exactly. Metroid games just never really sold that well, regardless of quality. 1.44 million is pretty fantastic and the game is still selling a bit in Others and USA. I would also expect the game to pick up somewhat during the holidays so it should easily pass 1.5 million and then some. Message | Report |

It seems Hardcore games sell very well on the Wii.... I think what throws people off is that Casual games sell AMAZING... so it makes it look weak. I cant see how anyone could scoff at a game's that sold around 1.5 million and surpassed its predessessor. Message | Report |

Which is kind of sad cause if they were to look at it from a reality based point of view they'll see the game is doing just fine. The game should clear the 1.5 million mark and if it can maintain its legs, will have a chance at 2 million, which has to be much more than Nintendo was expecting. I would think Nintendo is perfectly fine with it. The best selling Metroid game is Prime 1 at 2.77 Nintendo knows before hand no Metroid game, no matter how well reviewed, is going to get 5 million or more. It is one of the main reasons this game is not handled by one of the main internal teams. Luckily Nintendo still knows that it is important to satisfy its hardcore fans and made sure that Retro gave us three amazing games. Message | Report |

1.5M? That means it will only go on to sell another 360,000 copies in its lifetime. No, this game will have longer legs than that. It should get something of a boost from SSBB in March and then as Wii hardware continues to push excessive numbers the game will continue to reach hardcore gamers adopting the system. There's still quite a lot of existing Wii owners who have yet to buy it, and then there's the Japanese launch which will again see a larger percentage of buyers interested in the series due to SSBB. This game will do an absolute minimum of 2M, a figure I think it could reach in the next two years. It probably won't eclipse the first Prime, but it will outsell Echoes. Message | Report |

Delicious Metroid. One of my favourite things about the Prime series is that it's the only game I've played where I actually feel like I have a suit of power armor. Samus has scanners, sensors that let her see other frequencies, communications, data analysis, environmental protection, extremely augmented mobility and integrated weapons systems. By comparison, Master Chief's armor lets him utilize an energy shield, punch things really hard, and house an AI. Yawn. Message | Report |

It depends on the legs but if Metroid Prime 3 reaches 2 million lifetime sales, Metroid fans have got to be happy. But Nintendo really really needs to start pushing this series. MP Corruption sales are outstanding, especially considering its relatively inexpensive development, compared to other 2007 top shooters such as, Halo 3, Bioshock, and Call of Duty 4, and the lack of a full fledged marketing campaign. Still, the best FPS game I played this year, even considering that shooting was a small part of the game. Message | Report |

I gave some thought on how to say this in a polite way...lets see if it works. Metroid( as much as I love it) has never been as popular as Mario/Zelda/pokemon/othernintendofranchise. Expecting it to sell at the same rate as the other is just plain ludicrous. You know what lets take a look at the top 4 selling metroid games shall we? 1. Metroid Prime(GC) 2.77 million 2. Metroid (the very first game) 2.73 million. 3. Metroid II: Return of Samus (gb) 1.76 milion. 4. Metroid Fusion (gba) 1.55 million. Now I don't know about Metroid or Metroid II but I know for a fact that it took prime and fusion (which btw was released early in their consols life) 4-5 years to get those numbers. MP:C has already hit the million in the course of 4 months. It's doing just fine. Chances are by the end of the Wii's life this game will be the top selling Metroid game so really I dont see a problem here. Message | Report |

1M is an amazing number. Though it's not really for me to say, I don't think Halo 3 deserved to sell over 6M copies, and in my estimation it only did so though extreme Microsoft-aided hype that in no way followed through to the actual game. If Halo 3 sold the amount of copies based on the quality of the game it'd probably struggle to sell 2M copies. But then I have always regarded the Halo series to be one of the most over-hyped game series' of all time. Halo was great, in some ways revolutionary for a console FPS, but the other two were total let downs. Considering MP3 has no online and is on a console not ordinarily known for hardcore shooters, this figure is great, especially taking into account that Metroid has never been a mainstream phenomenon. Clearly the game has very long legs (it sold over 70,000 copies last week and it has been out for months) which should carry the game to over 2M lifetime copies. Message | Report |

Hmmm ... than how much does a PSP game cost to develop for Naznatips ? So if a 1 million seller for the Wii is good , than I guess that 500k for a PSP is amazing right . And lets dont start how low cost a port must be ... I dont want to sound rude , but 1 million for what is IMO the best Wii and possibly one of the best untill now in this generation , is a bit dissapointing . Still , its no shit , I agree , just that seeing how huge are Wii and DS software sales lately , Im not shure that this million will be enough to warant it a nother entry in the serie . 1 million is never shit. 1 million is a buttload of profits for a Wii game. Wii games cost so little to develop that 1 million sold is going to be a lot of money. Million sellers are a big deal. Comparing sales of games like Halo and Mario to a regular game and calling the sales of that game shit based on that comparison is simply ignorant. I think lifetime sales should pass Echoes, I'd say Corruption will see another million over the next few years. I certainly hope so, it deserves it more than Halo 3 that's for sure. Seeing that game sell 6M irks me something fierce, good game and all, but it was basically Halo 2 with marginally sharper graphics and absolutely zero innovation. Metroid Prime 3 at 1 million now. Still selling decently in the USA and Pal, with Japan's launch later .... I would say 1.5 to 2.0 million sales should be easy for Metroid Prime 3. Though I would say this game should be more of a 3 to 5 million seller, but Metroid has never been that popular to begin with. Nintendo should really market this series more. The quality is there. It will get to one million without Japan. It is selling about 50k a month between the "America" and "Other" charts a week. Still three weeks to cover till year end ... that should give it 150k more by the end of the year which will put it over a million worldwide. So in the end, Metroid Prime 3 is not a failure, but it hasn't gained any new fanbase though. Message | Report |

I really liked it. My only complaints are: 1. Bad, bad pacing. Some parts really distract from the story. 2. Some of the cooler motion controls do not work as advertised. (ex. whenever twist the Wiimote to unlock doors. I wouldn't have to move hand to pull or twist only to push the lever back in.) Excellent game though! Message | Report |

Dissapointing sales so far in US too and Europe about this game. Its really a great game thes best of the metroid series and the best of prime.BUT no online, no multiplayer damn i bought Hunters on ds only for that feature. I think thats the blame for the low sales. I wish that retro could push nintendo for the online features a little more so they could add deathmatch and other cool ideas from the hunters that participate in that game,because all of them have unique abilities so multiplayer could me awesome!!! Zeker on the Seventh Comment before me is totally right......Metroid Prime 3 will be a title that will sell non-stop throughout the upcoming months. It is definitely a hidden gem not many people know about.
