@sep85dd

Yeah some games in the chart are only showing NA numbers. The same goes for Call of Duty 3 (Wii). Someone should fix it.

Ha outsold Step and Roll in NA this week and this is in its 170th week, not its 2nd.

Why isn't this tracked in Others? It sold more than Lego Star Wars in the UK (over 200k), so it's safe to say it sold at least 600k in Others.

So it's at over .83 million with NA and UK sales. The rest of Europe might put this at least in the 1.2 mil range.

@Vas-y

you are corect...hope they can ad atleast the 200k from uk...better that than no european numbers at all..

Vas-y posted 26/11/2008, 11:28
If I'm correct, ELSPA is saying 200k at least by now. Now we can be sure it is a million seller :).

Probably platinum already, since SEGA games are very popular in the Other's region. Just missing 430k, and as we know the game has sold 100k+ in the UK alone.

The price of this game has plummeted in UK recently. I got it for £15 new and it's worth it, though I wouldn't have paid £40 for it. The price drop may give it another boost of sales. Where the hell are the numbers?

As Crizum said, this could actually become a million seller, when EU and Japan numbers are added.

At this point it has sold:
- 400.000 i USA
- Over 100.000 i UK (http://www.elspa.com/?i=3942)
- If we say UK is 25% of sales i EU (yeah, i know it perhaps is more, just and estimated number!) that would put it at 400.000 in EU.
- Over 41.000 i Japan as of 18th of august (http://vgchartz.com/japweekly.php?date=39313&console=&maker=Sega&disp=Japanese+Name&boxartz=1)
- 841.000 in US, EU and Japan put together.
- Last week it sold 1.300 worldwide, if we double (because that is without the EU numbers) it is at 2.600 worldwide weekly.
- It would have to sell 2.600 in 62 weeks before it would reach the 1 mio mark. This is without Australia and games tend to have longer legs in EU so perhaps it is selling more on a weekly basis than 2.600

Konklusion (if all the estimates above is correct):
- Is it going to sell 1 million? Perhaps in the long run but not anytime soon!
- Is it going to ship 1 million? Most likely!

haha that made me laugh, "Of course you can expect this when buying a game about rolling monkeys in balls". Just sounded hilarious.

Sorry, but I really didn't like this game... there were like 5 good minigames (which were wicked fun, but still) and the game just looked a lot more childish than the original SMB. Of course you can expect this when buying a game about rolling monkeys in balls, but it was even worse than I thought.

Does anyone realize this could become a million seller when PAL numbers are in? I doubt it, but it's possible.

I agree with stof that the minigames generally suck. The game itself is fun for a lazy sunday afternoon.

This game needs to be combined with the Japanese one (http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=4445)

I played it. It was a lot of fun and figured that it just wouldn't be the same with a joystick. That said, the minigames were complete unplayable crap.
