Wii Fit U (WiiU) > Opinions (21)

Illusion posted 01/04/2016, 02:19
If these sales numbers are accurate then Nintendo probably shouldn't give up on the Wii Fit franchise just yet. Getting to 1 million sales on the Wii U is not bad especially when there are hardly any casuals to buy a game like this. If the NX turns out to be reasonably successful, I could see another sequel to this game doing quite well.

Obviously a huge fall from grace after the previous sales, however Nintendo will still have made a tidy profit from 710k physical copies sold. I wonder how many people did the digital promotion by downloading for a free trial and purchasing a fit meter to keep it.

Nintendo needs to move on. The Wii style of gaming was cool but don't overdo it. Just like the NES, do you think we would have wanted to see games like Golf, Wrecking Crew, Kung-Fu, and stuff forever!? No, you moved on to greater hardware which gave way for greater games like Super Mario World and Zelda: A link to the Past. I loved the Wii for a minute but you have to move on, blow everyone away with your next console... this is your Gamecube make another Wii. (Not literally!)

This one is hard to track, i wonder how many people got the free digital download then purchased a fit meter. Thats the route i took.

Well you can also buy it digitally and separate exercises to. Its not a too expensive game to make so Im certain that in the longrun Nintendo will make some lovely $$$ from this.

The numbers are probably wrong in the US, so sooner or later we will see some adjustments.

So nintendo think's delaying this game in NA is going to help it sell more ? They fail to realize that all the soccer mom's and grandmas who bought the original Wii Fit are on tablet's now.

Well, this is Japan retail only I assume. Not in US retail yet, but the $20 Fit Meter was sold out on Amazon for a while and a digital copy comes with that.
