Dragon Age: Inquisition (PS4) > Opinions (32)

starbbb posted 14/01/2018, 01:47
@sugenis From wikipedia: Sales
Dragon Age: Inquisition debuted at No. 5 in UK in its first launch week. According to retail monitor Chart-Track, it had sold almost the exact amount of launch week copies as 2011's Dragon Age II.[101] This does not take into account direct digital download sales however,[102] which have been noted to be a "significant percentage of sales" by BioWare[103] and thus the true number of sales is higher. According to Electronic Arts' fiscal 2015 third quarter earnings report, Dragon Age: Inquisition is the most successful launch in BioWare history based on units sold.[104]
And here is the link to an article from PC GAMER saying that DA:I was the best launch of bioware history. http://www.pcgamer.com/dragon-age-inquisition-had-most-successful-launch-in-bioware-history/

@starbbb No one is hating. You're just not being realistic. Inquisition was a commercial failure. It flopped despite being on next gen and old gen consoles. These are mediocre sales and EA knows it, that's why they tried to hide the actual numbers of both Inquisition and Andromeda saying crap like "it brought in a lot of revenue", hurr durr "most successful launch". But their absence from ndp even a month after their release, their quick price drops speak volumes about the reality.

mediocre ,are you crazy? this sales are excellent and this is just the physical sales in one console if you consider the physical and digital sales in all platforms is most likely to have sold more than 6 millions units a huge success for EA and a even bigger for bioware

I'm overall happy with the sales, that they turned out to be mediocre.

They're good enough that EA will approve the development of a sequel, but hopefully bad enough to make Bioware self-critical and not make another Dragon Age with MMO-like world design again.

Come on 2 million, it can get there. I would rank this game 3rd out of the 3 main DA games, but I still liked it a lot, and played it through multiple times.

It actually sold really well, Slimebeast. xD This is the 2nd best selling Dragon Age SKU. And I think it will cross 2m physically this year.

It's going to cross 2m. Sales seem decent

This game is atrocious.

Such a huge disappointment after Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, which both are among my favorite games of all time.

Glad it didn't sell well.

In line with DA: Origins numbers. Decent game, doesn't deserve more imo. It has it share of big flaws.

EA never disclosed sales figures, so this is just guesswork.
Bioware did say it was their most successful launch ever. Considering Mass Effect 3 sold 3.5 million. Dragon Age: Inquisition must have sold at least 4 million.

It would have helped if they didn't do that exclusive DLC deal for Xbone. What was EA thinking? Xbox fans don't play games like this. That's why the sales on it are so poor compared to PS4.

Doing well, but not great, sadly.
I still expect 2.5-3M LT though.

4 million combined sales. Deserves more but a hit none-the-less

I bet it'll do 3m LT (PS4), which is enough to be the top dragon age sku ever, I believe.

PS4 has saved this game. Sales on the other 4 platforms are very average. 1 million before the new year and surely 2 million lifetime on the PS4. This game deserves it and a lot more.

The game is beasting, for a Dragon Age game.
800k in 3 weeks, while Origins reached 800k in five. Very nice.
It'll probably have good legs

Great first week sales, 1M+ on all platforms, the PS4 version is actually the best Dragon Age launch yet, the XBO version also has a pretty good launch, and the holidays are only beginning. Well deserved for a great RPG.

Well done Bioware, well done EA (can't believe I just said that).

After Dragon Age 2 and the fact that it only had three days of sales for the week these are good sales.
Given how much better Dragon Age Inquisition is, I expect the game to have legs.

Bioware will be delighted with the sales on the PS4. Game would have had a bad opening week without them.
