There have been like 9 major console releases and the story hasn't really gone anywhere since AC3 (the 5th release). Fans are losing interest for numerous reasons. Too many releases in a relatively short period, repetitive gameplay, some releases are small improvements to the predecessor, some releases have been mediocre, and as I mentioned before the story lacks direction. This game has probably sold over 4 million units with digital included, the series still has a following. But they need to do something significant to bring more long time fans back. There was a very vocal minority that hated the present world events in that game and maybe that forced Ubisoft's hand, but without that present day anchor, the series has lost the one thing that binded the story together. Black Flag was the last AC game i brought and it didn't have the desmond saga and even though I enjoyed the game thoroughly I realised things were beginning to get convoluted. There seemed to be an end goal, and with that taken away, each new game becomes nothing more than a pointless, endlessly repeatable slog. And thats why sales are so low.....(imo) Message \| Report

Its a superior game but listen to the people Ubisoft, this franchise will die if you keep it annually. You hav'nt listened to the voices so now gamers will tell you with their wallets.
